May 11 Wentworth to Quebec City

May 11 Wentworth to Quebec City
OK so it drizzled rain most of the day and, although much improved, it was the same old route: Moncton, Fredericton, Edmunston, Riviere du Loup, Quebec city. However, it had it’s moments. The springtime forest is a strange emerging green. Brightening hills of it behind the dark grey of Lake Temiscouata was beautiful, but no photo. The one above is at the tourist stop (closed, so we trespassed) outside Edmunston where Elly got to chase sticks for a while. She’s such a patient traveler.
The 2nd photo is just east of La Pocatiere. The St. Lawerence still looks like a gulf, not a river here, and Norah watched a flock of Red-winged Blackbirds play while I took a few pictures of the rocks and trees.
The other birds of note were the first Bald Eagle of the trip coasting over the St John river with a Canada Goose oblivious to it sitting in the freshly plowed potato field beneath it just north of Florenceville.
We’re at the Hotel Le Gite now, near the airport just west of Quebec. Seems great to us. Pretty much on the way to Trois Riviere. Friendly staff, welcome the dog, complimentary presion tonight and continental breakfast tomorrow. What more could you want? Tomorrow’s drive to Ottawa is half of todays.

Happy Mother's Day!!!! Your trip sounds good so far! I just got home from a great weekend in Wolfville (grad weekend). Unfortunately I missed Mother's Day lunch because I thought it was going to be dinner.

I am now going to tackle my first attempt at using the scanner and sending emails to you guys.
Love,
Kaila
